I have been shopping at Adray for 20+ years. I remember back in the day when you could rent darkroom space by the hour. I just cannot believe this store is closing! The other day a friend told me they were closing. The owners decided it was time to retire. So I hopped online to check out their website http://www.adraycamera.com/. There was no mention of them closing on the site, so a week later I stopped in to see what was going on. Sure enough they are closing. No one there knew exactly when they were going to close, just that they were going to close. Everything was on sale, up to 40% off. I picked up a Bogen monopod head with quick release for almost half price. Although I enjoyed the deal I got on the monopod head, I am sad to see this store go. It has been in my life since I was a teenager. |

This is actually more of a pre review as I just started reading the book. I will update this post once I finish. When I ordered my copy of The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light from Small Flashes (Voices That Matter) from amazon, it was on back order. Seems they were having a hard time keeping it in stock. Which should be an indication of how well this book should do. When it finally arrived, I forgot I even ordered it. Before the evening was over, I had read half of it. Joe's writing style keeps me entertained, and the book is an enjoyable read. I even found myself laughing out loud a few times. Within the first 1/4 of the book, I learned a technique that I will probably use forever, and was worth many times the price of the book. If you have any interest in lighting, and, well, you should, just go order the book now. At only half way through, I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Which will probably be 5 when I am done. Check back here in a day or two for the final (actual) review. Click the link below to order The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light from Small Flashes (Voices That Matter) |
